Retrospective descriptive study of CPAP adherence associated with use of the ResMed myAir application

چکیده
Digital health technologies are gaining increased recognition as having the potential to improve adherence to continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) therapy. This retrospective analysis found that 83.9% of brand new CPAP users who received standard care and who used the ResMed myAir self-management application, which incorporates empiricallytested behavioural science strategies, achieved Medicare adherence in 90 days and 75.4% achieved adherence in 30 days. The median number of days to achieve adherence was 23 (95% confidence interval, 23-23). The adherence rates achieved in this study suggest that myAir has a positive effect on CPAP adherence.

Factors Affecting Patients’ Adherence to Continuous Positive Airway Pressure Therapy for Obstructive Sleep Apnea Disorder: A Multi-Method Approach
Background: Continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) is the gold standard therapy for treating obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) disorder. However, patients’ adherence to its regular use is poor. The present study aimed to determine the adherence rate to CPAP therapy by identifying factors affecting its regular use and its associated problems and discomforts among a sample population in Mashhad (...
متن کاملDeterminants for adherence to continuous positive airway pressure therapy in obstructive sleep apnea
BACKGROUND Continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) therapy is an efficacious treatment for patients diagnosed with obstructive sleep apnea (OSA). However, there are only few data on long-term adherence. The aim of this study is to quantify the extent of non-adherence and describe the clinical characteristics. METHODS A retrospective study including 695 patients with newly diagnosed OSA and...
متن کاملAdherence to Continuous Positive Airway Pressure in Existing Users: Self-Efficacy Enhances the Association between Continuous Positive Airway Pressure and Adherence.
STUDY OBJECTIVES Obstructive sleep apnea-hypopnea syndrome (OSAHS) is a common sleep disorder associated with a myriad of sequelae. OSAHS is effectively treated with continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) therapy. However, fewer than 50% of patients are compliant with their CPAP therapy prescriptions. The current study sought to explore an integrated, biopsychological approach to CPAP adher...
متن کاملThe Relationship Between Medication Adherence and Coping Skills in Patients With Heart Failure
Introduction: Medication adherence is essential to improve outcomes emanated from the disease. The increase in the complexity of the medical regimens causes poor adherence in patients with heart failure; also, the progressive nature of Heart Failure (HF) and its complicated drug regimens are mostly stressful. This study has been conducted on the HF patients at the heart hospital of Kermanshah c...

The aim of this study was to investigate the potential polysomnographic predictors of CPAP adherence using polysomnographic parameters at the time of obstructive sleep apnea diagnosis that distinguished between REM and NREM sleep. This was a retrospective cross-sectional study of 173 patients. Patients who used CPAP for more than 4 hours per night for at least 70% of nights over a 6-month perio...
